Sept. 27, 2024

Dear Poirier Families,

Today we honored National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. We honor the children who attended Indigenous residential and day schools and acknowledge the healing journey of generations of Indigenous Peoples of Canada. We were deeply moved by our black bears’ contributions to our Truth and Reconciliation Assembly. Some highlights included everyone singing the ‘Children’s Blessing’ with drumming by Division 2, the ‘Travelling Stick Song’ by Division 6, and Division 1 explaining the ‘Calls to Action’. We are so fortunate to live and learn on T’souke Nation land and this Monday we hope that you will get out on the land to connect with the nature and rich history around you.

  • Photo day is Wednesday, Oct. 2nd. Please see that attachment for information.
  • Please drive slowly with care and attention whenever you are approaching our school. To avoid some congestion at the drop off and pick up you can park in the neighborhood (not blocking driveways and off lawns) and walk in to meet your child. This makes a lovely ending or beginning to the day.
