Dear Black Bear Families,

Our Black Bears raised $650 for Amy’s Bunny Barn through the Peer Helper Garage Sale; thank you to M Button, Mr. Parsons, and the Peer Helpers for their volunteerism and kindness. If you are looking to add to your pet family, Amy adopts out bunnies.

We wish you a wonderful long weekend. Cherish the days where you get to be on a different schedule, doing new things, and being with each other. We will see you on Tuesday bright eyed and bushy tailed just like Amy’s bunnies.

 Reminders

  • Cell phones cannot be used on school property during supervision hours. This means that students being dropped off in the morning and awaiting pick up in the afternoon will be asked to put their phones in their backpacks. The research is out there around the positive link between mental wellness and social connection through play. We are encouraging this type of play and conversations with friends over cell phone use. Thank you for your support in this.
  • This week students were reminded that the moment that they are dropped off by their trusted adult or before their trusted adult picks them up, they must stay on school grounds. We reviewed what those boundaries are, the fence and the road. (Older students who have the permission to transport themselves to and from school need to be on grounds and stay on the grounds within the bells) Thanks for reinforcing this message.

 From our PAC:

  • We welcome all new and current parents/guardians of Poirier students to be a part of the planning!  We are now looking for and accepting nominations for our Executive Member Team. Without volunteers, the school year would miss out on events in which some core memories for our kids are made; Book Fairs, Fun Fairs, Hot Lunch Days, a simple ice cream or popcorn day would not be possible without parent/guardian support.
