Dear Poirier Families,

Thank you to our Sooke Lions for providing pancakes to all of our Black Bears today! They were delicious. This coming Monday is “Music Monday”. We are looking forward to a school wide assembly recognizing the joy of music in our lives. We recognize the value of music for cognitive development and mental health. Consider sharing your favourite musical compositions and songs with your Black Bears this weekend. On May 4 you may want to share this one: Williams – Star Wars Main Title with the Victoria Symphony Orchestra – Darryl One conducting May the fourth be with you all.

  • We no longer have our attendance phone line so please email: poirierattendance@sd62.bc.ca to let us know if your child will be absent. We only need your students name, teachers name, and the date of the absence. Thank you very much.
  • The Poirier Choir is excited to be preparing for their annual Music Monday trip to Sooke village on Monday, May 6th. Choir members have been given a permission form which outlines the details of the trip. Please ensure this form is returned, and that choir members are dressed for the weather, and for walking around the Sooke village core on May 6th. We’ll need parents and caregivers to assist on this outing – please let Mme Arts know if you can help. As always, we are grateful to the Sooke Lions who support our event every year by offering the participants a snack at the end of the circuit. Mme Arts and Ms Murphy
  • Our lost and found is overflowing. Please encourage your child or come in and have a look for any lost jackets or hoodies.
  • For the Grade 4 and 5 Camp Thunderbird trip on Wednesday, June 19; Thursday, June 20; and Friday, June 21, there is a required guardian meeting to review the activities and expectations of the trip.
