PEKELANEW-Moon that turns the leaves white(Oct.)

Dear Poirier Families,

Our Grade 2s have their last swim sponsored by our Sooke Lions this Tuesday. A huge thank you to the Sooke Lions Club for providing this for all Grade 2s in Sooke. Halloween is this Thursday and we are inviting our Black Bears to come in costume for the day. Please keep accessories and weapons at home.

  • Our Black Bears are young and everyone has different comfort levels for blood and gore. Please keep this in mind as costumes are being selected and put together for school. Some of our newcomers to Canada may be triggered by images of soldiers, skeletons, fake blood, and other costumes related to death or war.

We are hosting a Jack-o-lantern share in the gym. Please bring in carved jack-o-lanterns starting at 8:15 to the gym. We will all have a walk through to enjoy the creations and use them for our backdrop during our Halloween assembly. In the afternoon, weather permitting, we will head to Journey Middle School for a parade to share our costumes. The day will end with a Halloween dance.

Friday will be a tired day, but it will be Friday!
