Dear Poirier Families,

It was great to see all our families at the school on Thursday sharing in their students’ learning journeys. We are so proud of all of our students’ efforts to do their very best at school.

• Parking On The Grass– Please do not park on the grass around our traffic circle. Our grounds staff works really hard to keep the lawn we have looking great. Thank you.
• Outdoor Garbage Bins: we are removing our outdoor garbage bins to remove attractants for our neighbourhood bear. Our school community will look after their garbage to make sure nothing is on the ground outside. Thank you
• The École Poirier Choir has been invited to sing at the Sooke Winter Market on Saturday, December 7th at 1pm. If your child is interested, please watch for details on a form which will be sent home with all choir members next week. Families can indicate their child’s intent to participate in this performance by returning the form to Mme Arts at the school. For info and updates on choir happenings, follow the CHOIR group on the Poirier App! 
• On Monday, November 25th there will be a LockDown Drill. This is part of our safety drills (fire, earthquake, lock down) to ensure that students and staff are prepared in the event of an emergency. Lockdown is used when there is an immediate threat to the school. Lockdown minimizes access to the school and secures staff and students in rooms. As part of this lockdown drill procedure, everyone must remain silent in rooms until we call the drill over from the office.
• Please fill out the walking school bus survey if you have not yet. Poirier Elementary Family Survey link: https://forms.office.com/r/FT9B9W9Gx9 The deadline for survey submissions is Monday, Nov. 25th. Thank you 
• Pop Up Plays for 2025 September Kindergartens are back! Please share the information with anyone who has a child starting Kindergarten in September. Children and caregivers are encouraged to join any Pop Up play they can attend. It does not have to be the catchment school. The first one is next Thursday at Sooke Elementary. Please see the attached flyer.

There are no deadlines, all online order, it is here to stay!  Please be aware that some items may be two weeks from order to delivery to the school.  All items will be delivered to the school for distribution, if you want the item to be a surprise, or you have any questions about products, please contact ep.pac.fundraising@gmail.com.
