Dear Panther Families,
We Walk for Water
Div. 3 and Div. 5 are running an important program called We Walk for Water! What is, We Walk for Water you ask? Well, the water sources in certain countries aren’t clean, which not only causes terrible sickness but can also lead to loss of human life. It only takes twenty-five dollars to provide one person with clean water for a lifetime. We will be participating in a water walk on Thursday, May 9th and we will be collecting donations from May 3rd to 17th. Let’s see how many human lives’ we can change!
Music Monday 2019
Poirier will be celebrating Music Monday 2019 with a special assembly in the gym at 9:15 am on May 6th. Please arrive early to enjoy Division 4 – Mme Dailey’s class – as they will be performing on ukuleles before the assembly begins, starting at 9am as the gym is being loaded. Parents and family members are welcome to attend. Several divisions will be sharing musical performances, along with the members of the Spring Choir who sang during our January – March season (those students who rehearsed for the Sing Out in early March). Special musical guests will also be JOINing IN! In the afternoon, our Music Monday choir will be taking their annual walking trip to the centre of Sooke to sing in front of Evergreen Mall with Gord Phillips, and to entertain at various businesses and shops throughout the village. If your child is currently in choir, a permission form has been sent home this week. Please contact Mme Arts at the school with any questions.
The following divisions/groups will be performing at the Music Monday Assembly:
Div. 1 – Ms. Powers and Mrs. Bridal’s classes
Div. 2, 5, 7, and 10 – Mme Chalmers, Mme Gates, Mme Kelly, and M Weinstein’s classes
