Surrounded in Panther spirit, the 2018-19 school year has been a time of many wonderful experiences for our community. From musical performances, field trips, role model presentations, Beach Day and Fun Day. Each week our students had opportunities to create, to work with others, to solve problems and to be challenged to do their best. We have lived every day with our motto: JOIN-IN!
This year has seen many improvements in our school. With the new playground installed, a new roof, the nature playground in the forest revitalized, a paved play area at the front of the school and the field with its retaining wall, the campus looks amazing. Inside the school, the staff has created a variety of areas to support our learners. We are a little biased, but we think the school looks amazing.
We would like to thank all of the members of the PAC for the service, dedication and commitment they have given to the school. They have hosted many fun events including the Hallowe’en dance and Movie nights and supported the school to create the new playground. Thank you to Michelle Carpenter and Carla Donaldson for their leadership in the PAC.
The following staff members will be leaving our school. We would like to thank them for the excellent service they have given to the students and community of Poirier School and wish them well in their new positions:
Ms Jamie Ralph
Mme Amanda Chalmers
Mr . Max Weinstein
Mme Leanne Gates
Ms Michelle Spencer
Mrs. Evelyn Hill
Ms Tricia Cooper
Aboriginal Education Support Worker
On a personal note, I would like to thank you for the support and help you have given me these past two and a half years. École Poirier is a wonderful school community. It has been an honour to work with your family; I hope our paths will cross again. Cathy Hussey
