What happened this week:
Divisions 1 and 3 enjoyed a field trip to the Victoria Film Festival and a tour of the Legislative Building on Monday. Many students have said a highlight of the trip was meeting Premier John Horgan. And the Scholastic Book Fair has been a great success, thank you again to all the parents who volunteered their time!
Thank you also to the Sooke Lions who provided Thursday’s pancake breakfast!! It was hugely enjoyed by students and staff alike. And finally, Friday we had the pleasure of watching the TZinquaw Dancers perform in the afternoon – what a wonderful way to end the week!
What’s happening next week:
Monday is Family Day – schools are closed, and we hope everyone takes a moment to enjoy some family time.
Tuesday Role model Rick Peter visits Division 8, and the Coast Salish Moons Inquiry Project begins for Divisions 5 and 7.
Wednesday is a busy day – it is Valentine’s Day, the 100th day in school, and our Kindergartners have their hearing and screening. If that wasn’t enough, Division 1 and 15 are going skating in the afternoon!
Thursday we’ll continue our kindergartners’ hearing and screening, and role model Ren Louie will be visiting the music room in the afternoon.
Friday Division 7 is swimming, and role model Jo-Ina will be visiting Division 8.
